Shamokin Dam, PA – Focus Central PA announced today that Lauren Bryson has joined the organization as Executive Director to further develop FOCUS’s mission to attract new business investments and family-sustaining jobs to the Central PA region. In making the announcement, Donald Alexander, FOCUS Board Chair said “The Board is pleased and excited Lauren has decided to return to this position, in which she was instrumental in developing FOCUS during its early years,” adding “Lauren brings to this position a wealth ofexperience from within the economic development arena and a thorough knowledge of both the organization’s mission and the regions strengths and assets for attracting business investments.” Lauren’s key responsibilities will be to develop and implement strategies for generating unique business attraction leads for Central PA, while also growing the organization and ensuring it remains sustainable and viable for the region’s future.

Lauren, in accepting the position, stated that she is “excited to be joining the organization to reinvigorate the mission and activities to attract business investment in Central Pennsylvania,” adding “I am looking forward to working with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement effective, innovative ways to communicate the unique resources and reasons businesses should put Central Pennsylvania on their short list for a location or expansion to drive success for their company and their employees. ”

Lauren’s education and experience are in the areas of marketing, manufacturing and economic development. Notable marketing successes include key roles in developing a state-of-the-art economic development marketing website, creating numerous marketing materials and coordinating initiatives and events around economic development. Lauren has extensive experience in leadership, graphic design, market research and strategic marketing plan development. She has been involved with and completed training in many aspects of economic development including marketing, attraction, retention, workforce development, education, infrastructure and development. In addition to her experience and education in economic development marketing, Lauren graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing, an Associates Degree in Sales Management, a Concentration in Sociology, and an International Marketing Certificate from Brugge, Belgium.
Currently Lauren serves as Vice Chair on the Hope Enterprises, Inc. Board of Directors. Hope is an amazing organization that enhances the lives of people with developmental disABILITIES by providing them with caring supports and responsive programs and services.
At a recent TedX event Lauren spoke about the importance of innovation in manufacturing. Lauren is a graduate of the Innovation Engineering Leadership Institute program, which was put together to reignite American manufacturing innovation.
