Shamokin Dam, PA – At the May meeting of Focus Central Pennsylvania Board of Directors, held on Wednesday, May 17th, board members were recognized for their contribution to the mission of Focus and new members were welcomed to the Board. The Board of Directors of Focus Central Pennsylvania provides policy and strategic direction to advance the mission of the organization.
Recognized at the meeting for their years of contribution and commitment to the Focus mission and to advancing economic opportunities in Central Pennsylvania were outgoing board members Teri MacBride, Don Stringfellow and Fred Gaffney. Certificates of appreciation and recognition were presented to the members by Chairman, Rob Postal. Outgoing members of the Board shared their thoughts as they move off the Board:
“It has been a pleasure serving on the Focus Board. The organization represents a successful collaborative effort to provide professional, pro-active outreach in attracting new businesses to Central Pennsylvania. With the partners currently at the table, I have no doubt that Focus will be even more successful in the future.” Fred Gaffney, President, Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce
“I have been a supporter of Focus since its inception about two decades ago. Why? I’ve done this because the regional approach to economic development marketing just makes so much sense. None of the economic development organizations in the region could do enough marketing alone to have an effect. By joining forces the Focus partners have created a marketing program that is nationally recognized. So glad to have been a part of it all.” Don Stringfellow, SIDCO
“Focus Central Pennsylvania has put our region on the site location map by advocating strongly, and creatively. Focus engages a broad group of partners and promotes our area for new business development. I’ve been impressed with Lauren Bryson and the many dedicated board and community members who work to further our region’s future. Together we have had success and more will be achieved in the future.” Teri MacBride, PPL Electric Utilities
