Shamokin Dam, PA – SEDA-Cog Joint Rail Authority (JRA), provider of five short line railroads in Central Pennsylvania is investing $3,000 for 2016 to support efforts of Focus Central Pennsylvania to promote the region to attract new corporate investment. A check was presented by SEDA-Cog JRA’s Executive Director Jeff Stover to Lauren Bryson, Focus’ Executive Director.

The Lewisburg, PA based JRA is an eight county municipal authority offering the best of public ownership of the trackage and fixed facilities and private rail service operation to its customers. The SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority’s mission is to preserve and foster rail service in Central Pennsylvania and to further economic development through retention, improvement and expansion of the infrastructure and the rail service it supports. The Rail Authority has reinvested $43 million into upgrades and replacement of rail facilities and development of additional tracks to serve new industrial sites.

Focus Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit dedicating 100% of its time and resources to attracting corporate investment in the region to create jobs.  Focus currently serves seven (7) contiguous counties in the central part of Pennsylvania, USA with a total population of 468,250; a total labor force of 221,795; and nearly 18,000 business establishments. The counties and major cities include Centre (State College, Bellefonte); Columbia (Bloomsburg, Berwick); Montour (Danville); Union (Lewisburg, Mifflinburg); Snyder (Selinsgrove); Northumberland (Sunbury, Milton); and Mifflin (Lewistown).
