Phillips Ultrasound - $32 million investment in Reedsville, PA, Mifflin County
Philips, a global leader in health technology, announced a plan for new investments of more than $150 million in U.S. manufacturing and research and development (R&D). As part of the announcement, Philips unveiled the expansion of its Reedsville, PA manufacturing facility, which produces AI-enabled ultrasound systems for hospitals across the U.S. A $32 million investment to add 24,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 40,000 square feet of warehouse space, creating 120 new skilled manufacturing, research, and development careers.
Amazon Plans to Invest $20 Billion in Pennsylvania for AI Infrastructure

Italian Pasta Maker Il Pastaio’s First U.S. Manufacturing Facility
Allenwood, PA, Union County – $12.5 million project that will construct a 71,300-square-foot manufacturing facility and create at least 74 jobs in Union County. Based in Italy, Il Pastaio will construct a 71,300-square-foot facility at the Great Stream Commons business park in Gregg Township. GAF purchased an existing rail served building in New Columbia, PA in 2017 and invested millions in facility and rail improvements to the building creating over 50 quality careers. GAF chose to build a second plant adjacent to that facility in New Columbia, PA because of a talented workforce, excellent rail service and proximity to the highway and their customer base. GAF completed construction in 2022 of a multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art 255,000 square foot rail served PolyISO manufacturing facility and created an additional 40 careers.

Growmark
In 2022, MCIDC replaced and improved rail at the MCIDC Industrial Plaza to support Growmark, an agribusiness to bring in fertilizers. This project created 10-15 jobs during construction/retained 20. This was a $225,183 Investment. The project partners were: PennDOT RTAP, Growmark FS LLC.
Academy
In 2022, The Career & Technical School located in Lewistown, PA that serves High School Grades 10-12 and adults, constructed a new Diesel Technician & Heavy Equipment Operation training facility. The facility totals 54,000 sq ft (35,000 sq ft building, 19,000 high roof connector). This project created 131 jobs and retained 15. The project investment was $8.7 million. Penn Dairy
In 2022, Penn Dairy, a manufacturer of Nonfat, reduced fat, whole and greek yogurt & cheddar, mozzarella, monterrey jack and colby cheese, located in Winfield, PA announced a $1 million investment in facility, infrastructure, equipment and talent expansion. They have investment over $6 million since 2019.

In 2022, Sivana Converting LLC, purchased the 350,000 sq ft former Sunbury Textile Mills in Sunbury, PA, Northumberland County. The project jobs creation was estimated at 50-100 jobs, was a $3 million dollar investment, and they planned to source PA hemp from about 70 local farmers to produce biodegradable containers and boxes.

PNK Group
PNK Group purchased over 100 acres of land in the Great Stream Commons business/industrial park in Allenwood, Pennsylvania (Union County) and constructed a new Class A 478,388 sq ft industrial speculative building and a new Class A 252,000 sq ft industrial speculative building. Country View Family Farms
In 2024, Country View Family Farms (Clemens Food Group) constructed a first of its kind feed mill project in New Columbia, Pennsylvania, Union County. The project create over 50 new jobs, was over $48 million dollars in private investment. The project included a 100 unit rail loop track. The state of the art feed mill included at 180’ tower constructed with continuous pour technology concrete.

Grayston Enterprises partnered with Susquehanna University on their new Downtown Center in Selinsgrove, PA. ocated at 111 N. Market Street in the heart of Selinsgrove, Susquehanna University’s Downtown Center serves as a bridge between campus and community. North Shore Railroad
In 2023, North Shore Railroad and SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority Embarked on New Endeavor in Snyder County. JRA purchased the Selinsgrove Branch from Norfolk Southern bringing JRA’s total track miles to 215. North Shore operates the line.
Penn State Innovation Hub
In 2022, the Invent Penn State Innovation Hub opened, a 85,000 sq ft, six-story, state-ofthe-art, multi-use home for innovation in downtown State College. The space houses Happy Valley LaunchBox powered by PNC Bank; Makerspaces; a virtual reality/immersive technology laboratory, student club storage, a 6 floor vista point/overlook event space, collaboration areas and much more. This was a $56.8M investment.
MKB
In 2022, MKB, a manufacturer of erosion control products that started in 2011 in State College, PA, expanded. In late 2018 they acquired a 110,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Belleville, PA (Part of the former CNH site) and further expanded operations and product offerings, specifically erosion control blanket production. In late 2021 acquired the remaining buildings on the former CNH site, expanding out footprint to 500,000 sq ft of manufacturing and warehouse space. They have added over 50 jobs in Central PA and the investment has exceeded $12M in Belleville, PA, Mifflin County.
MCS Bank
In 2022, MCS Bank, a state-chartered, mutual savings bank operating six community branches in Mifflin, Huntingdon and Snyder Counties and an Operations Center in Milroy, PA, acquired land in Phase II of Armagh Business Park. They constructed a new 12,300 sq. ft. operations center. The project investment was over $3.5 million. The project added 24 jobs, and the additional development could bring 200 jobs. Penn College
Penn College, a national leader in applied technology and STEM education, with a main campus in Williamsport, PA has over 5,000 students, 800+ employees and offers customized training, apprenticeship sponsorship and training, certificates, associates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. They have millions of dollars in value in donated equipment and resources through industry partnerships. A few significant investments have been their electronics lab equipment with 16 student installed Programmable Logic Controller stations, four Kuka industrial robots and a conveyer system; the Shell Polymers Rotational Molding Center of Excellence; and a $5 million, new 55,000 sq ft advanced welding lab. Button Oil
Button Oil, a 4th generation family, expanded their footprint to Northumberland County with the construction of 12 – 60000-gallon tanks to hold propane and butane. This terminal construction is to transfer these commodities from rail cars to the tanks. This was a $2.2 million investment project.

Geisinger announced in November 2021 and held a groundbreaking in May 2022 for a $10 Million investment for an orthopaedic center of Pennsylvania and a convenient care at the Buckhorn exit off Interstate 80 in 2023.
Sensor Networks
Sensor Networks, specialists in smart solutions for complex asset integrity challenges, opened NEW headquarters at 366 Walker Drive in State College. This 2022 investment project doubled their square footage to 20,000 sq ft, created 125 quality careers and included investment in expanded space, machinery and equipment. They received a $122,000 investment package from Centre County Government, College Township, Ferguson Township, Patton Township, State College Borough, Halfmoon Township and Spring Township.
APP - Advanced Powder Products
In 2022, APP, a metal injection molding & metal 3D printing company based in Philipsburg, Centre County, PA constructed a 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in 2020 and completed 7,000 sq ft addition in 2022. The state-of-the-art quality lab, increased processing capabilities, automation development and R&D center. The total building and capital equipment investment approx. $11M ($4M buildings, $7M capital equipment), created 75 new jobs since construction. APP appeared on Inc 5000 for the 5th time in 2021 and were awarded a Ben Franklin Technology Partners Big Idea grant of $25,000 in 2000. The Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership was instrumental in helping navigate funding.
Centre Valley Sports
In 2022, The Nittany Valley Sports Centre was completed. This is a 70,000 sq ft sports complex in Patton Township that features gymnasium space, indoor turf field, batting cages, pitching tunnels, event space, basketball/volleyball court, gymnastics training center including speed and agility training center, and more. Kish Bank
In 2022, Kish Bank, a $1.2 billion regional community bank with 18 offices and financial centers in Centre, Mifflin, Huntingdon, Blair and Juniata counties, and northeastern Ohio opened it’s Kish Innovation Center Project in Reedsville, PA, Mifflin County. This newly constructed 38,000 sq ft facility at the intersection of Rt 655 and 322, features workspace for 100 employees, training space for 250 and unique collaboration spaces. This was a $12 million dollar investment in Kish Innovation Center and Reedsville campus that included contributing funds to expand sewer infrastructure to support future development in the area.
Bimbo Bakeries - Mericle
In 2022, Mericle development purchased 57 acres to constructed a 400,000 square foot+ processing and fulfillment facility for Bimbo bakeries in the Great Stream Commons business park in Allenwood, Union County, PA.
PPL Electric
PPL Electric provides electricity distribution and transmission services to power communities in central and eastern Pennsylvania. They maintain nearly 4,500 miles of transmission lines across its 29-county service territory. PPL has invested over $6.1 billion since 2013 in transmission infrastructure, stronger poles and wires, new technology, new lines and substations.
Webstaurant Store
In 2022, Webstaurant Store constructed a 586,000 square foot distribution center in Bloomsburg, PA along Interstate 80. This was a $33 million-dollar investment that created 730 jobs with plans for addition growth over the next 3 years. Benton Foundry
In 2022, Benton Foundry, underwent a $13 million expansion to double size of main production core room. This created 70 new jobs and is the largest expansion in the companies history. They received a $3M RACP grant. The family business has been in place since 1860 and they serve markets in 22 states, Mexico & Canada.
