DRIVE – Driving Real Innovation for a Vibrant Economy, was created to take a regional approach to economic development in the Susquehanna Valley. The commissioners of Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties formed DRIVE as a council of governments to provide professional staff for project management as well as create a forum for communication and coordination of economic development activity.

Union County Planning is responsible for traditional planning initiatives such as transportation planning, recycling coordination, administering the first-time homebuyer program, economic development, trail authority support, subdivision and land development plan review and approval.

CBICC is committed to helping to improve the quality of life in Centre County and to making it a great place to live, learn, work, play, and do business.
